The McCarron lineage at Carrigart Boxing Club entered its third generation on Thursday night.

Tegan McCarron stepped through the ropes for the Carrigart Boxing Club's Easter tournament at the Downings GAA Centre.

McCarron faced Isabella Iwanek from Convoy BC in one of the exhibition bouts.

Her grandfather, Thomas McCarron, has been pretty much a lifelong member of the Carrigart Boxing Club.

Uncles James, Gerard, Noel and Declan, and aunts Emma and Maeve have all donned the club's colours while her mother, Tara, has been actively involved as both a coach and judge.

Indeed, Maeve McCarron is a nine-time Irish champion who has a European Youth bronze medal to her name while James McCarron was elected Vice President of the Ulster Boxing Council in 2019 – only the second Donegal representative to the role after Buncrana's PJ Hallinan.
