Ballyshannon gardai nab driver who put a different clock back

Ballyshannon gardai nabbed a driver who turned the wrong kind of clock back.

A van was seized by officers in the Ballyshannon area.

Upon further inspection of the vehicle's commercial vehicle roadworthiness test (CVRT) information, gardai discovered something of a mismatch.

The mileage didn't quite add up and gardai found that the odometer of the van had been turned back by over 22,000km.

A garda spokesperson said: “It is illegal to interfere or engage another person to interfere with an odometer under the Road Traffic Act, 2014. The matter will now be investigated further.”
