Donegal driver arrested with no licence or insurance and failure of drug test

A car was seized in Barnesmore today, with the driver, who was arrested, testing positive for cocaine and having no proof of a licence or insurance

Gardaí made the arrest today in Barnesmore

Gardaí in south Donegal arrested a driver of a car in Barnesmore who tested positive for cocaine, as well as having no proof of a driving licence or insurance.

As well as being arrested, the driver saw the seized. Court proceedings will follow.

"When will the road safety message hit home?" An Garda Siochana posted. "One poor decision made in relation to safety on the roads could lead to a lifetime of regret and suffering. Arrive alive this Bank Holiday Weekend and help ensure that other road users do too by making responsible decisions. Never drive while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs."
