Operation Enable will focus on any type of parking that interferes with or restricts the free movement of people with disabilities

Garda clampdown on illegal parking in Ballyshannon

The objective is to target the unauthorised use of disabled parking bays and disabled parking permits

Operation Enable has commenced in the Ballyshannon District. 

The objective is to target the unauthorised use of disabled parking bays and disabled parking permits. The operation will also target other forms of illegal parking within such as parking on ‘dropped footpaths’ and any other type of parking that interferes with or restricts the free movement of people with disabilities/limited mobility.

The operation commenced at 8am on April 1 and will conclude at 8am on Monday April 8. 

This is a multi-agency initiative between An Garda Síochána, Donegal County Council, the Disabled Drivers Association of Ireland (DDAI) and the Irish Wheelchair Association.
