A Letterkenny woman who became involved in a row in the town has been fined after she appeared in court.

Susan Orr, of Ballymacool Wood, was charged with a public order offence following an incident at Lower Main Street on January 14th last.

Letterkenny District Court heard how the 44-year-old had been intoxicated on the night.

Garda Sergeant Gerard Dalton said Ms Orr had been 'verbally aggressive' to Gardai and was arrested for her own safety.

Her solicitor Rory O'Brien said other parties had been involved in a melee and that Ms Orr had been on the fringes of the incident and had alcohol on board.

Judge Eiteain Cunningham fined Orr €300 and gave her six months to pay.
