Parachute jumping and (inset) Johnny McDonald and Dan Bonner
A parachute jump has been organised to fundraise for Donegal Down Syndrome.
A Doochary couple, Aidan and Anne-Marie Bonner have two children, Áine and Dan who are 11 and six respectively. Dan has Down Syndrome.
A local and friend of the couple, Johnny McDonald wanted to complete a parachute jump for his 60th birthday and offered Aidan and Anne Marie that he would donate funds to a charity of Dan’s choice.
“We were very touched by the gesture and the charity we picked was Donegal down syndrome,” Aidan told DonegalLive. “The help we and indeed countless families have received from Donegal Down Syndrome is amazing."
The jump is set to take place with Skydive Ireland at Movenis Airfield, Garvagh, (BT51 5LQ) on June 8 at 1pm.
“The work they do for children like Dan is incredible. If you could see fit to donate something , it would be much appreciated, what better way to give back to them for all their work,” Aidan said.
“All funds raised will go directly and we hope that you can help us by donating whatever you can.”
You can donate to Johnny's Dive For Dan here.
Funds raised for the Donegal Down Syndrome Association goes to speech therapy, swimming lessons, drama, yoga, music, social outings, parent and toddler youth groups and educational workshops. All of the supports and services are available to over 160 families registered with Donegal Down Syndrome.
