Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit nabbed two drivers for speeding and a third for mobile phone usage.
Gardaí detected a vehicle travelling at 137 KPH in a speed zone of 100 KPH and another travelling at 123KPH in the same area.
These drivers will now have to pay a fine of €160 and will also receive 3 penalty points. A fine will also be issued to another driver who was detected using their mobile phone while driving. This driver will receive a fine of €120 and 3 penalty points.
“Speed kills and so we continue to urge all drivers to slow down,” An Garda Síochána Donegal said. “Weather conditions have been very poor lately and most road surfaces are wet/possibly slippery as a result. We are all vulnerable on the roads. Nobody is invincible. Save lives. Slow down. Never use/hold your mobile phone while driving.”
