Cillian Murphy was the talk of the IFTA Film & Drama Awards (IFTA) at the weekend as TikToker's were mesmerised over seeing the Oppenheimer star over the weekend.

The awards took place on Saturday night and are considered to be the last slog of the awards season in the arts and entertainment world and they are given by the Irish Film & Television Academy for Irish television and film.

The awards were first presented in 1999 and the ceremonies recognise Irish creative talent working in film, drama, and television, and winners receive a cast bronze statuette.

TikTok stars, James Doyle, also known as Protein Bor and Eric Roberts shared a hilarious moment of meeting Cillian and it wasn't where you think.

The pair shared to their Instagram stories Saturday night that they were speaking about the actor in the bathroom and they turned around and he was there.

Eric said: "We have to do a story time about what just happened in the bathroom. So myself and James went down to the bathroom and we were chatting about Cillian Murphy and we turn around and who was standing there Cillian Murphy."

James said: "We were literally just talking and I literally said to Eric 'Oh my God, I can't believe I got a picture with Cillian Murphy. We were just chatting about how long the show was."

Eric explained he let Cillian know how long his speech was saying: "Ah your speech ran on a bit long", the Donegal TikToker seemed chuffed as Murphy laughed at his Irish humor expressing "I nearly fainted."

Murphy took home an award for his role in Oppenheimer and accepting his award said: "I'm still so brutal at this! There are so many people here I admire. It made me think of being here and being a young actor and getting so much encouragement from so many people a lot of love and encouragement."

The Cork actor made his professional debut in Enda Walsh's 1996 play Disco Pigs, a role he later reprised in the 2001 screen adaptation.
