Claudia Buckley mentored Jason McCahill on the TG4 show over the past month
Claudia Buckley has announced a show in Letterkenny in celebration of Jason McCahill, the new winner of Glór Tíre.
The country star will perform accompanied by a band in The Clanree Hotel on Sunday, April 28. Throughout Glór Tíre Claudia has mentored Jason and they even duetted during the series with Love Me Tonight by Don Williams (1975).
Jason McCahill became Ireland's Glór Tíre Country Music Champion 2024 following his victory in the Grand Final which was broadcast live on TG4. The 26-year-old delivery driver from Ramelton scooped the accolade following a spirited performance of the Dublin City Ramblers’ classic ‘The Ferryman’.
Claudia is a Galway-born award winning country music star and daughter of Jimmy Buckley. Claudia’s support, and that of her father has been hugely appreciated by Jason who says he is in “debt for life” to the Galway singer. Now, Jason is set to celebrate his victory in style and he is brimming with regional and provincial pride.
“Come celebrate the new winner of Glór Tíre ar TG4 Jason McCahill for a night of great country dancing,” Claudia shared. “Congratulations Jason! Hope to see you with us this Sunday night. It's gonna be a good one.”
