The members of the Letterkenny / Milford Municipal District were delighted to confer a Civic Honour on Robert O’Connor at a reception held at the Public Services Centre, Letterkenny.
The award is in recognition of Robert’s outstanding tenure as Chairman of Relay for Life, Donegal. Robert is one of the original members of the Relay for Life committee and has raised hundreds of thousands of euros in Donegal for the charity.
Robert’s dedication to the survivors, carers and all those who have passed away from cancer has been an inspiration to the entire community.
Cllr Kevin Bradley, Mayor congratulated Robert on his service and acknowledged the positive impact that Roberts work has had in the community. Cllr Bradley commended Robert’s wife Hazel and said that she should be very proud of her husband Robert.
