A Garda probe has been launched after a possible arson attack in Lifford.

In the early hours of Wednesday, May 15, the residents of a house in Coolatee noticed that their car, which was located on their driveway, was on fire.

The emergency services attended the scene.

Gardai say that the possibility that the fire may have been started deliberately “has not been ruled out”.

A spokesperson confirmed that Gardai are appealing for information in relation to an incident of criminal damage.

The spokesperson said: “We appeal to residents in that area to make contact with Gardaí if they observed any suspicious activity on that date or if they have any relevant information.

“Gardaí in Letterkenny can be reached on 074-9167100.”
