The Kettle Boilers are playing a free gig in Cottage Bar on Saturday, May 25
Kettle Boilers featuring Letterkenny native Luke Murphy are set to play a free gig in Cottage Bar on Saturday, May 25, supported by folk and blues rock band Bull, Buck and Bear fronted by Strabane man John Nelson.
The gig gets underway at 8pm sharp. The Kettle Boilers are a high-energy, trad-influenced folk rock band hailing from Galway. Their diverse set consists of hoof-tapping original music about topics such as; drinking creamy pints of Guinness, Seagulls falling from the sky and dogs slurping up holy water.
Kettle Boilers have an ever-changing roster of instrumentation with the usual rock band setup of guitar bass and drums with Irish Tenor banjo, fiddle, Shruti Box, acoustic guitar and mandolin. The essence of Kettle Boilers is their 6 part vocals, drones, throat singing, lilting and constant on-stage craic.
They have been tackling the country this past May, playing Bennigans in Derry on Friday 24th and having played in Wicklow, Clare and iconic venues in Dublin and Galway. The lads are very excited for the North-West leg of the tour and very much look forward to seeing you there.
