Carol Kennedy-Gardiner, a teacher at Coláiste Cholmcille, Ballyshannon has received an ASTI Bursary.

Carol received the bursary at a reception held in Dublin last Friday. The Ballyshannon teacher is currently on secondment to Oide, a Department of Education schools’ support service, undertaking a Doctorate in Education at DCU.

The research explores the experiences of learners with Developmental Coordination Disorder affecting between 5% and 6% of students in Irish schools. Her findings will offer educational stakeholders a valuable opportunity to advocate for inclusive education, empower marginalised voices, and improve the educational experience for all students.

The ASTI Bursary Award scheme assists ASTI members in undertaking further studies relating to teaching, education, or trade unionism.
