Banna Ceoil Chloich Cheann Fhaola is in the final stages of planning their trip of a lifetime to Disneyland Paris in July.
The band submitted a video of their performance to Disney and were delighted to get the good news at Christmas to inform them all that they had been selected to march down Main Street, by offering them the unique once-in-a-lifetime experience of becoming a 'Disney performer' for the day.
The Junior Band have been so busy during the winter months preparing all their Disney music including tunes like Beauty and the Beast, Part of this World, The Lion King and Under The Sea to name a few. The band is scheduled to march down Main Street Disney on Wednesday, July 3.
The band members are all very excited about this trip. They have definitely earned it, by their dedication, achievement and award-winning performances.
Chairperson of the band, Gerry O'Donnell explains: ’We really have the best bunch of young people and they are a credit to our parish. The commitment each member has given to the band in recent years is incredible. The band members are working so hard to learn their music and drill routine. The amount of work our teachers and committee are putting into this, to make this the most memorable once-in-a-lifetime trip for all band members is to be commendable”.
The band are reigning All-Ireland champions in Fleadh Cheoil na h-Eireann Competition and will travel to Wexford in August to retain their All-Ireland title.
Band members, committee and parents will travel to Paris on Monday, July 1, for three nights, this marks a wonderful occasion for band members young and old. We wish them the very best of luck and as a community, we thank them for bringing great success and joy to the parish of Cloughaneely down through the years.
The band would like to invite everyone to Ionad Naomh Fionnán on Thursday, June 27, at 8pm to showcase their Disney programme to our family, friends and community
