Local elections: All seats filled in Milford LEA as two elected without quota

All seats in the Milford LEA have been filled and the sitting councillors are now Declan Meehan (Non-Party), Pauric McGarvey (Non-Party) and Liam Blaney (Fianna Fáil) - the results are based on 1,088 transfers from count four

Pauric McGarvey and Liam Blaney have been elected to fill the remaining two seats in the Milford LEA.

The three sitting councillors in Milford are now: Declan Meehan  (Non-Party), Pauric McGarvey  (Non-Party)  and Liam Blaney (Fianna Fáil). The results are based on 1,088 transfers from Maria Doherty’s elimination.

In the fifth count, Blaney received 59 transfers which brought the total to 2,051 and McGarvey received 283 transfers which brought the total number of votes to 1,947. John O’Donnell was automatically eliminated with a total of 1,671 following 233 transfers and Blaney and McGarvey gained a seat without reaching the quota. 

Declan Meehan was elected in the fourth count having received 188 transfers which pushed his total figure to 2,074. This figure therefore surpassed the 2,058 quota required.

After count five, the total number of non-transferable votes is 487.
