Seven organisations in Donegal have been allocated €268,200 to create new Community Services Programme positions.
The seven organisations included are Carndonagh’s Spraoi Agus Spórt Family Centre, which received €114,750 and Colgan Community Resource Centre which was allocated €35,000 funding.
Milford and District Resource Centre received €25,750; Donegal Famine Heritage Centre, Dunfanaghy got €23,175; Greencastle Community Development Company received a share of €23,175; Fobhairt Fhánada Cuideachta Faoi Theorainn Ráthaíochta was allocated €23,175 and Ionad Cois Locha received €23,175.
The funding forms part of a €1 million investment in 32 organisations throughout the country which the Minister of State at the Department of Rural and Community Development, Joe O’Brien announced.
“Community Service Programmes continue to do great work in so many communities in Donegal,” Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine Charlie McConalogue said. “They support community-based organisations to provide local social, economic, and environmental services through a social enterprise model.”
