Donegal Town's newest coffee shop - McBrew - has just been opened by footballer Ryan McHugh, and his wife Bridget Molloy.

Based at the Diamond, McBrew has coffee, tea and other soft drinks, and plenty of culinary delights - scones, banana bread, coffee cake, gluten-free brownies, rocky road cakes, protein bars, smoothies, fruity refreshers and acaí/ yoghurt bowls.

Having opened, this morning they are welcoming their first customers, with  Desmond Campbell from Ardara - Bridget's hometown - the very first through the door.

Ryan is a footballer for Kilcar and Donegal, and this week won GAA.ie's Player of the Week following his side's victory over Clare in Castlebar, which sets up an All-Ireland quarter-final next weekend following on from success in the Ulster SFC and topping their group in the weeks afterwards.

Ryan and Bridget married last December at the Church of the Holy Family, Ardara, and celebrated their reception at Jackson's Hotel, having originally engaged in New York.  Last week, the McBrew social channels kept followers updated on their opening.

"Works are progressing well behind the scenes to get the coffee shop ready to go," they posted before adding: "Looking forward to seeing yous all there for a brew."
