A bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of a man who failed to attend a court sitting where he was due to be served with the book of evidence.

Craig Black, 28, of 361 Grahamsland, Castlefin was due before Donegal District Court on Monday.

He is charged with assaulting another man and causing him harm at Apache Pizza, The Diamond, Donegal Town on March 7, 2022.

A previous court hearing had adjourned the matter to June 24 for the book of evidence to be served and the defendant sent forward for trial.

At Monday’s hearing, solicitor Frank Murphy said his client was not present.

Inspector Angela Cummins said that it was the garda application that a bench warrant be issued.

Judge Michael Connellan granted the bench warrant with a bond of €100.
