A Donegal County Councillor is calling for a 'full safety assessment' on a dangerous stretch of the N14 road.
On monday, a lorry went off the road on the N14, the main Letterkenny-Lifford road, near Ballyholey.
The road was closed for two hours with the assistance of a crane needed to remove the lorry.
It was the third lorry in just over a month to go off the road along the same stretch of the N14 after similar incidents at on June 17 and May 28.
“This seems to be happening all too often,” Councillor Donal 'Mandy' Kelly told Donegal Live.
“I have spoken to the roads engineer on this in the past and will be doing so again. A full saftey assessment needs to be carried out on this stretch of road from the junction at Drumoghill FC right out to Ballyholey to indicate what exactly is the problem here.
“Is it that the road is two narrow for artic vehicles meeting? Is it the camber, the surface of the road, or is it just driving errors?
“Whatever the case may be, one thing is for sure is that this needs addressed as a matter of urgency before there is a more serious accident on this bit of road.”
