It is no wonder that Donegal was voted as the ‘Coolest Place on the Planet’ by National Geographic 2017. Attractions such as having the highest accessible sea cliffs in Europe at Sliabh Liag; hosting the most northerly point in Ireland at Malin Head; one of the three glacial fjords in Ireland at Lough Swilly; the largest sea arch in Ireland, the Great Pollet Arch and the most scenic airstrip in the world at Donegal Airport. Donegal’s islands also offer a unique and remote place to visit, where you can experience Gaeltacht heritage and have the opportunity to island hop.
Donegal forms 500km of the Wild Atlantic Way with 39 attractions along the coastal route. Three signature discovery points are considered must-see attractions, this includes Fanad Lighthouse, Malin Head and Sliabh Liag.
