Donegal Town Courthouse and Letterkenny Courthouse
District court sittings due to take place in Donegal on Monday have been cancelled as part of a nationwide mark of respect following the death of a serving district court judge.
A spokesperson for the court service said: “The President of the District Court has directed that any District Courts sitting on Monday, July 8 should be cancelled as a mark of respect and to allow Judge MacGrath’s colleagues attend the funeral.”
Donegal Town
All matters listed for Monday, July 8 will be adjourned en bloc for mention to the next sitting of Donegal District Court on Monday, July 22.
Letterkenny
All persons remanded in custody shall stand remanded to the sitting of the court next held in Letterkenny District Court District, which is Tuesday, July 9.
All other cases scheduled for Letterkenny District Court on Monday, July 8 on summons or on bail shall be adjourned to Thursday, October 17 at 10.30am.
An Clochan Liath
A sitting of An Clochan Liath District Court scheduled to take place on Tuesday, July 9 will now take place at the Courthouse, Letterkenny at 11am on the same date. This is to allow the Judge to deal with all custody matters from the day before via video link at 10.20am.
