Dave Doogan of the SNP
Dave Doogan, who has roots firmly in Donegal, has been returned as the MP for Angus and Perthshire Glens constituency in Scotland.
Doogan was elected in the newly-formed county constituency, obtaining 19,142 votes, of 40.4% of the vote share.
His parents, Jim and Annie (neé Walsh) Doogan, are both natives of the Rosses. Dave is a regular visitor to the Kincasslagh area and also has family connections in the Donegal Town area.
A former aircraft engineer who previously worked with the Ministry of Defence, he was elected as a Scottish National Party (SNP) Councillor in 2012.
He held the former Angus constituency since 2019 and will now be the MP for a much larger constituency.
“It’s a great privilege that my majority is bigger now than it was in 2019,” he said following his election.
“I’m part of a team and I’ve led the campaign from the front, but I can’t take away from the team that’s behind me.
“I’ve also demonstrated having represented Angus over the past five years that I’m a very mobile and energetic MP.”
