29 mins: Donegal 0-8 Galway 1-6: Gallen - from a standing position - pulls his side back to within the minimum.

28 mins: Donegal 0-7 Galway 1-6: Ciaran Thompson kicks his second, this time from a free, and the deficit is cut to two.

26 mins: Galway 1-6 Donegal 0-6: McBrearty and Finnerty, from a free, swap points and that fortuitous goal remains the gap.

24 mins: Galway 1-5 Donegal 0-5: A miscued effort from Paul Conroy drops in front of Shaun Patton and with Matthew Tierney running across his path, the ball misses both and bounces up into the roof of the net.

20 mins: Galway 0-5 Donegal 0-5: McGonagle drops one into the keeper's hands and Galway counter as Shane Walsh levels it up for the third time.

19 mins: Donegal 0-5 Galway 0-4: Patient build-up play eventually sees Patrick McBrearty slip Caolan McGonagle in and the Buncrana man again pushes Donegal in front.

15 mins: Galway 0-4 Donegal 0-4: Finnerty grabs his second of the game and it's level once more.

14 mins: Donegal 0-4 Galway 0-3: Gallen makes no mistake this time out and Donegal lead for the first time.

13 mins: Donegal 0-3 Galway 0-3: Michael Langan given too much space out wide and Donegal are back level.

12 mins: Donegal 0-2 Galway 0-3: Ciaran Thompson brilliantly makes space to cut inside on his favoured left and we're back to a one-point game.

10 mins: Galway 0-3 Donegal 0-1: Gallen harshly adjudged to have impeded John Maher and Shane Walsh converts.

9 mins: Donegal 0-1 Galway 0-2: Shane O'Donnell gets Donegal off the mark nine minutes in.

8 mins: Galway 0-2 Donegal 0-0: Robert Finnerty gets in on the right side to fist over as Galway move two clear.

Oisin Gallen switches onto his left but sails an effort wide of the target.

Jason McGee tries one from distance and the umpire decides to go to Hawkeye... and it's ruled wide.

3 mins: Galway 0-1 Donegal 0-0: Dylan McHugh lands the game's first point as Galway open the scoring.

Donegal kicking into the Hill 16 end in this first-half.

And we're off!

Approaching throw-in and the big team news for Donegal is that Jason McGee is fit to take his place in the starting XV. The Cloughaneely man limped off against Cork in the All-Ireland group stages and missed subsequent outings against both Clare and Louth.

Naomh Columba's Aaron Doherty and Caolan McColgan of Naomh Padraig Iskaheen also start for Donegal with Jeaic Mac Ceallabhuí, Daire O Baoill and Niall O'Donnell now among the replacements.
