Kathleen and Sean Martin celebrated their 60 years of marriage at the Mill Park Hotel
Today marks the 60th wedding anniversary of a special couple from south Donegal.
On July 23, 1964, Kathleen Rose from Kilmacreddan and Sean Martin from Ardatowel, Townawilly, began a lifelong journey together.
Meeting in Dunkineely, their love blossomed into a beautiful partnership that has stood the test of time. They eventually settled in St Joseph's Avenue in Donegal Town, where they built a life filled with love and family.
Kathleen and Sean’s family includes their first child Michael, born on their first anniversary, July 23, followed closely by Marie on July 19, Catriona, and Adrian on July 25. Notably, three of their four children's birthdays fall within days of their wedding anniversary, making July a month of celebration for the family.
Kathleen, known for her legendary apple pies, and Sean, a former footballer with Four Masters GAA and an avid golfer at Donegal Golf Club, have spent their lives in Donegal. Sean's passion for golf has been passed down to many of their children and grandchildren.
This past weekend, Kathleen and Sean celebrated their diamond anniversary at the Mill Park Hotel, surrounded by their children and 11 grandchildren.
"Happy 60th anniversary to Kathleen and Sean Martin," all the family said. "Here’s to many more years of joy and togetherness."
