British soap opera star Lisa Riley has had her breath taken away by Inishowen’s scenery during a visit at the weekend.

Riley, who plays Mandy Dingle in Emmerdale, took in the views from Grianán of Aileach and Malin Head, during her trip through Donegal with her fiancé Al.

“One of the BEST views we’ve EVER discovered….takes your breath away, that’s for sure,” the actor posted after visiting Grianán, the Burt ring fort which is believed to have a history dating back to 1700 BC.

“Came to Ireland to keep discovering, we really have not been let down. It’s UNBELIEVABLE - and the weather today is perfect,” Riley said of her visit to the north-west which began in Sligo with a visit to Mullaghmore.

She made her way to Malin Head which she described as “just BEAUTIFUL”. “Malin Head has been on our bucket list for months - so glad we got to get here,” she said. “Ireland has so much natural beauty,” she added.
