Two of Ireland's most celebrated authors will host a book club in Donegal this month.
The Laureate for Irish Fiction, Colm Tóibín, will present the monthly Art of Reading Book Club at Carndonagh Library on Tuesday August 27 at 6.30pm.
Throughout 2024, Tóibín - best known for Brooklyn, Long Island, and the Booker-nominated The Blackwater Lightship - meets a different library book club each month to discuss a novel by an Irish writer to highlight outstanding Irish writing and celebrate readers and book clubs.
This month's book club is taking place in Carndonagh, where Tóibín will speak to the Booker Prize winning author of Prophet Song, Paul Lynch.
Anyone who would like to attend the event can email carndonaghlibrary@donegalcoco.ie to reserve a place.
A limit of two spots can be reserved per email.
If you can't make it in person, you can watch or listen to a video and audio recording, which will be available on the Art of Reading webpage on the last Thursday of each month.
