Gunborg Benvick all smiles in Glenties today as she celebrates her 105th birthday
Keeping busy - especially in the garden - is the secret for a woman living in Glenties who turned 105 today.
Family and friends are celebrating Gunborg Benvick's birthday at her home in Glenmacannive.
Gunborg was born in Jakobstad, Finland, in 1919 and lived in South Africa for 20 years, where she learned to speak English before returning to her native Finland in the early 1980s.
She used to come and visit her son and grandchildren in Glenties every year. Since she turned 90 she has lived in Glenties surrounded by her son Sune, grandson Sven Sjöholm and granddaughter Louise Byrne and also her six great-grandchildren - Patrick, Tony, Shaun, Karolina, Sara and Henrik - and two great-great-grandchildren, Sera Jane and Sophie.
