Staff from the ED at Letterkenny University Hospital raised funds for Donegal Donkey Sanctuary in honour of their late friend and colleague Johnny Keating
Stafff at Letterkenny University Hospital's Emergency Department honoured their late friend and colleague with a fundraiser on what would have been Johnny Keating's 40th birthday.
Johnny was an animal lover and so the team decided to raise funds for Donegal Donkey Sanctuary.
A spokesperson for Donegal Donkey Sanctuary took to Facebook to share their appreciation for this beautiful and fitting gesture, saying: "We would like to say a huge thank you to the staff of the Emergency Department at Letterkenny University Hospital for their generosity in presenting a cheque for €600 to the sanctuary.
"Sadly a staff member tragically passed away in recent times and his friends and colleagues decided to hold a collection in his memory on what would have been his 40th birthday.
"Johnny Keating was an animal lover and had two rescue dogs called Jinx and Harvey so it was a wonderful way for his friends to honour his memory.
"The cheque was presented to Danny and Elsa Curran by Sandra Keeney, Serena Kho and Caroline Timoney. Also pictured are their beautiful dogs Nala and Milo who instantly fell in love with little Rose.
"What a wonderful act of kindness in the wake of tragedy. May Johnny rest in peace."
