Ardara native Dr Eileen McGlinchey - aka Smiley Eileey - has been named Irish Dentistry's Rising Star Award 2024.
Dr Eileen was over the moon to lift her title at the Irish Dentistry Awards held in The Round Room at the Mansion House Dublin.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be selected as the winner in this highly sought-after award in the Dental industry,” she told DonegalLive.
“It is truly heartwarming to be recognised for my dedication to prevention and willingness to tackle children's oral health in a positive and fun way.”
The newly graduated Dentist from University College Cork in May 2024, she founded Smileyeileey's Oral Health promotions in 2012 after graduating in Dental nursing in 2011. Eileen continued her education completing a BSc in Dental Practice Management and Oral Health Promotion in 2012.

Eileen has been providing her Oral Health Workshops to preschools, primary schools and special needs schools across Ireland since 2012 and has been a strong advocate for good oral health in disadvantaged areas and communities throughout Ireland.
Her passion for oral health led her to create the Smileyeileey Oral health and teething range which is available nationwide and at www.smileyeileey.ie which encourages children to care for their teeth in a fun way.
This is the 13th year of the Irish Dentistry’s awards which celebrates the outstanding achievements and contributions to enhance oral health care across Ireland. A gathering of talent, dedication and innovation in the field of Dentistry. Irish Dentistry's Rising Star Award recognises Dental professionals who have shown significant achievement in their career to date and who continue to exhibit passion, drive and attainment.
