A Castlefin man has been fined €100 after being found drunk at a Lifford petrol station.

Dylan Chambers, 25, appeared at Letterkenny District Court charged with the offence on April 16, 2023.

The court was told that Chambers was found by Gardai at Daly's Filling Station at 2.50am and was drunk and a danger to himself and others.

A fixed penalty charge notice was issued but it was not paid.

The court was told that Chambers, of Emmet Park, Castlefin, has a number of similar previous convictions.

His solicitor Mr Rory O'Brien said his client had made efforts to combat his alcohol issues, is now working and has not come to the adverse attention of Gardai since.

Judge Eiteain Cunningham fined Chambers €100 and gave him six months to pay.
