Leo's Cafe in Burnfoot
The landmark Leo’s Cafe in Burnout is to be turned into living quarters.
Donegal County Council has granted planning permission for a change of use of the premises.
It follows an application by Leo and Linda Porter for a change of use from the existing cafe and takeaway known as Leo’s Cafe to a dwelling house.
The application provides for connection to all existing services and all associated site development works to the building at Carnshannagh, Burnfoot.
The green light was granted by the local authority subject to three conditions, including that the development be carried out in accordance with the loved plans and that no surface water from the site shall be permitted to discharge to public road and applicants shall take steps to ensure that no public road water discharges onto site.
Further, Donegal County Council has directed that the dwelling shall be used as permanent accommodation or for the purposes of long-term letting for periods not less than 90 days and shall not be used for the purposes of holiday homes or as short-term rental accommodation.
