Age no barrier at Rossnowlagh Swim In Pink event for breast cancer research

“They say when you reach 70 you finally get sense but I have seen little evidence to support this theory in recent weeks.”

So says Philip McLoone as his uncle Paul and aunt Marie took to the waters for the Swim in Pink event in Rossnowlagh. This was one of several fundraisers over the weekend to raise money and awareness for breast cancer research.

“Esther O' Donnell contacted me about this having read the article about myself and Marie going swimming for our 70th,” said Paul. 

“I wish to congratulate Esther and her friends for organising this as the more research carried out the better the chances of successful outcomes following treatment. 

“Yesterday was the coldest in the water so far this year and there must have been a -2 wind chill factor when the photo of the main group was taken.

“Well done everybody but maybe June next year!”
