The pier car park in Donegal Town has flooded, with the tide continuing to rise.

October's supermoon has led to exceptionally high spring tides, with Friday evening's tide expected to peak at 4.25m at around 7.10pm.

Despite warnings from Donegal County Council, the car park is busy, almost to full capacity.

Motorists are advised to heed the warning signs and to avoid driving through floodwater.
