Stylish, elegant and always a warm welcome for the patrons of Dorrian's Imperial Hotel
There is much sadness in Ballyshannon following the death of Lucy Dorrian of Dorrian’s Imperial Hotel.
Lucy passed away in the care of St Phelim’s Nursing Home, Dromahair, surrounded by her loving family.
A spokesperson for Ballyshannon Business Chamber paid tribute to the late hotelier, describing her as ‘a most elegant lady’ and continuing: “Always a welcoming, gracious and friendly face in her beloved hotel and hometown, she loved to meet and chat to guests and staff alike, as well as locals and visitors she met around town.
“Lucy was widely known for her style and her heels - the envy of every woman as she walked around town and up and down Main St in them or often seen tidying the outside of the hotel in all her glamour.
“Rest easy Lucy, your work is done.
“Our sincere condolences to Ben, Mary, Dan, Sr Cecelia and the extended Dorrian family.”
Lucy was waked in her late home, Dorrian’s Imperial on Saturday, October 19.
Requiem Mass took place the following morning in St Patrick’s Church, Ballyshannon, followed by burial in Abbey Assaroe Cemetery.
Predeceased by her beloved brothers and sisters, Frank, Paid, Mary, Sr Francis, Monica, Bridget, Rosabelle, Anna and Bernadette, Lucy will be sadly missed by her brothers Dan (Pat) Youghal, Benedict (Mary), Sister Cecilia (Galway), Nephews, Nieces; especially Ann O'Connor (Paddy), relatives and friends.
