No injuries occurred as a result of the incident

The window of a garda patrol car has been smashed in an incident in Carndonagh.

The incident took place at Newpark Road in the town on Thursday, October 31.

Gardaí were on patrol in the area when the front driver’s side window of the patrol car was smashed by an object, most likely a stone. The incident occurred around 9.50pm and no injuries occurred as a result of the incident.

Gardaí say there had been a number of youths gathered in a nearby carpark who fled the area after the incident.

Gardaí are appealing to anybody who may have been in the area with a dash-cam or from anybody who may have any relevant information to contact Buncrana garda station on  074-9320540. The garda confidential line can be contacted on 1800 666 111.
