The Donegal incident took place at Cashelshanaghan, Letterkenny
A motorist in Donegal was clocked driving 113km/h in an 80km/h zone in the first two hours of National Slow Down Day.
GoSafe checked the speeds of 15,029 vehicles, with the Donegal incident taking place at Cashelshanaghan, Letterkenny.
“An Garda Síochána would like to thank drivers for their compliance during the first two hours of ‘National Slow Down Day’, making Irish roads safer for all road users,” a spokesperson said.

“We continue to appeal to drivers to comply with speed limits in order to reduce the number of speed-related collisions, save lives and reduce injuries on our roads.”
National Slow Down Day takes place today, Thursday, from 7am until the same time tomorrow.
