McCafferty's, Donegal Town requires a dance licence for late opening to resume
A newly lodged application for a monthly dance licence at McCafferty’s, The Diamond, Donegal Town has been adjourned due to ongoing fire officer objections.
This follows further recent adjournments of an annual dance licence application, and an application for special exemptions for late opening at weekends during the month of November.

The latest application was lodged at Ballyshannon District Court on Friday, November 15.
Brendan Maxwell as nominee of Fanad Head Limited of McCafferty’s Bar, The Diamond, Donegal Town applied for a Monthly Dance Licence at McCafferty’s Bar, Donegal Town, to run from November 15 to December 16 for public dancing from 12.30pm to 2.30am.
Without the dance licence, late opening is not permitted.
The court heard from fire officer Conor McShane that annual certificates remained outstanding, and that works carried out in the absence of a Fire Safety Certificate needed to be regularised through an application under the Building Control Regulations.
Judge Sandra Murphy had previously said she could not grant a dance licence, nor allow special exemptions, while fire officer and garda objections remained in place.
The matter will be before the court again on Thursday, November 21 at Sligo District Court.
