Independent Marie Casserly is eliminated
With Count 8 completed in the Sligo Leitrim South Donegal General Election count, there are eight candidates still in the race for four seats.
Marie Casserly has been eliminated, with 3,480 votes to be distributed. The 586 transfers that she gained from Nessa Cosgrove's elimination were not enough to catch Fianna Fáil's Paddy O'Rourke.

Chris MacManus (SF) pulls into fourth position ahead of Fianna Fáil's Eamon Scanlon. However, Scanlon is expected to pick up a significant number of tranfers with the expected elimination of his party colleagues in coming counts.
Frank Fieghan remains at the head of the pack, though he is still 1,638 off the quota. He is sitting on 9,743 having picked up 426 transfers from Nessa Cosgrove.
Martin Kenny is on 8,717, having picked up 286 transfers, with Michael Clarke on 6,879, haven taken only 94 transfers. MacManus has 6,369 (327 transfers) and Scanlon is on 6,137 (78 transfers).
