There are plans to construct a new sensory unit at Scoil an Linbh Iosa, Killymard.

A planning application in respect of the works has been submitted to Donegal County Council.

Caroline Feeney, the Chairperson of the Board of Management at the school, has sought permission from the local authority.

Scoil an Libh Iosa are seeking to construct a two-classroom sensory unit to the north-west of the existing school.

The planned works also include the reconfiguration of the existing entrance to the school building including some internal reconfigurations and the provision of a new one-way system to allow for bus drop-off areas, footpaths and dedicated parking for the sensory unit.

A new proprietary treatment system and percolation area is to be provided and all associated site works are provided for in the application.
