Goalkeeper Shay Given earned 136 Ireland caps between 1996 and 2016
Shay Given showed some of the festive spirit when he was a guest on Match of the Day 2 on Sunday night.
The Lifford native was an analyst dissecting Liverpool's 6-3 win at Tottenham in the Premier League, talking about Alexis MacAllister's first-half goal for the Reds.
“Not the first MacAllister to be left alone at Christmas,” Given noted as he discussed the lack of marking from the Tottenham defence as the Argentine netted, which, of course, was in reference to the 1990 Christmas classic where eight-year-old Kevin McCallister was left 'Home Alone' as his family travelled to Paris.
