Before the draw was made, the Glenswilly club chairman Barry Molloy said that - at thew last count - over €370,000 for the club, before the prize money would be taken out, leaving a profit of €300,000.
“When you see with the amount of tickets in that drum, six months work selling and six months planning before, it just shows when people put their minds together, buy into and go out and do the work, this is what you can achieve,” he said. "Thanks to everyone who helped and sponsored - the sellers, the volunteers, the coaches the families, the children, the shops. The commitment has been off the charts. This has brought people together in our community. We're a rural community, with the chapel, the club and one pub. We're a community club here.
"The total brought in, at the last count, was in excess of €370,000, which is a phenomenal effort, so after expenses and prize-money that leaves us with €300,000. Plans will come to fruition. We wanted to just make things happen. Thanks again, everyone."
