The section of reclaimed railway track has been developed into a beautiful walkway and extends from Burtonport to Meenbanad
The Friends of Burtonport Railway has secured a €4,000 grant and hopes to have path widening and drainage carried out in the coming weeks.
"Just a reminder that registration as Friends of Burtonport Railway 2025 is now open and people, if they wish, can avail of a reasonable rate of €12 per year," they said.
"We encourage all those using the walk to consider registering. All monies collected go towards the maintenance and upkeep of our walk, which is a great asset for locals and visitors alike.
