The works are planned at the Bomany Nursery and Montessori School
There are plans to expand a nursery and Montessori school on the outskirts of Letterkenny.
The Bomany Nursery and Montessori School opened in May 1997 and provided childcare for children aged from six months to 12 years.
New owners Ritesh and Pallavi Srivastava have sought planning permission for a series of works at the facility.
That includes a material change of use from part of an existing dwelling house to child créche facilities.
There have also applied to construct a new child créche playroom to the side of the existing dwelling house and existing childcare facility.
They plan to construct a new building to the side of the existing childcare facility building connecting to the existing nursery and montessori school play room and existing domestic garage.
The connection building is to include circulation corridor and toilet facilities and connection to existing sewage treatment plant on site.
A material change of use would see the existing domestic garage turn into a nursery and montessori school play room with toilet facility and connection to the existing sewage treatment plant.
There are provisions for fire escape openings to the existing gable windows to include external stairs and access from first floor to ground level externally.
Under the plans, the existing temporary staff room portacabin structure would move to another suitable on-site area.

A covered external child’s play area to the rear and side of the existing facility is also included in the plans while the car park will be extended if the works get the green light.
Donegal County Council say that a decision on the application will be made by March 23.
