A man has been taken to the hospital following a one-vehicle accident in Ballindrait.

Gardaí received a report of the accident at around 8am on Friday morning and the male driver of the van was brought by ambulance to Letterkenny University Hospital as a precaution.

The road was closed for a period between Maggie’s Tavern outside St Johnston and what is known locally as the ‘block of five’ at Porthall, where the collision took place, with emergency services on the scene.

Only last Sunday, at a scene 100 metres from the incident, a driver left the scene of a two-car collision near St Johnston which left two people injured. The driver of the second car left the area and did not remain at the scene.
