Funeral of Gortahork teenager Shaun McClafferty set for Thursday

Shaun McClafferty’s Funeral Mass will take place in Teach Pobail Chriost Rí, Gortahork on Thursday, March 6, at 11am, with interment afterwards in the adjacent cemetery

The funeral arrangements of one of the two men tragically killed in a road traffic accident in Gortahork have been confirmed.

Teenager Shaun McClafferty and Jamie Diver, who was in his 20s, died at the scene at the townland of Baltoney, Gortahork, on Friday night and two of their friends are still in a serious condition in hospital.

Shaun McClafferty’s removal from the Eternal Light Chapel of Rest, Mountain Top, Letterkenny will take place on Monday at 5pm, going to the family home in Baltoney, Kieran Roarty Funeral Directors say.

Removal and wake is private for family only, however all are welcome to attend the Funeral. Funeral Mass will take place in Teach Pobail Chriost Rí, Gortahork on Thursday, March 6, at 11am, with interment afterwards in the adjacent cemetery.

Shaun is predeceased by his grandparents; John and Máire Mc Clafferty, his aunt Cáit Mc Fadden and his papa Martin Darcy. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his heartbroken parents; Michael and Sharon, sister Sara, nannie Sheila Darcy, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and friends.
