The owners of Briney’s Bar in Clonmany are seeking an extension for the Bar
The owners of Briney’s Bar in Clonmany are seeking planning permission to extend their public house in the village.
According to the planning application, Martin Harkin has applied to Donegal County Council to turn the adjacent retail unit, formerly Catriona’s Newsagents, into a new lounge area at the bar on Clonmany’s Main Street.
Any submissions on the application may be made until July 7th. The planning application is currently at ‘pre-validation’ status with Donegal County Council and a decision is expected to be made on July 28th.

Meanwhile, last month Briney’s Bar raised a generous donation of €9,000 for St Columbcille Village through a 'Queen of Hearts' fundraising event. St Columbcille Village provides a day centre, sheltered housing and a high support unit on a beautiful site on the outskirts of Clonmany.
The substantial contribution from Briney's Bar will go directly towards supporting residential care, helping the facility continue to deliver the highest possible standards of support for people.
