There is a new contract being finalised for the provision of street cleaning in Letterkenny
A road sweeper which has been lying in a machinery yard in Lifford for 10 years has been requested for use in Letterkenny.
Cllr Tomás Seán Devine asked if the cleaning equipment could be brought back into use in Letterkenny to keep cycle lanes and footpaths clean on a regular basis.
“The road sweeper has been lying for 10 years,” said Cllr Devine. “It should be brought to Letterkenny.”
Cllr Devine also praised the “excellent” Tidy Towns in Letterkenny.
“Whatever equipment we have should be put to best use,” said Cllr Declan Meehan who seconded the motion.
