Met Éireann have issued two separate weather warnings for Donegal for August Bank Holiday Monday, with wind and rain expected

Wind and rain weather warnings for Monday as Storm Floris heads for Donegal

Two moderate weather warnings - status yellow - have been issued for wind and rain, respectively, as Storm Floris is headed for Donegal.

The wind warning is in place on Monday, August 4, from 4am to 4pm in Donegal, as well as Cavan, Monaghan and Leitrim.

Alert message from Met Éireann: "Very strong and blustery southwest winds veering westerly, with some damaging gusts. The possible impacts include dangerous travelling conditions, outdoor events may be impacted, structural damage, fallen trees, debris and loose objects, power outages and wave overtopping."

The rain warning is from Monday at 2am to Monday at 10am for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo. This will include spells of heavy rain, with a chance of thunder. Possible impacts are difficult travelling conditions, lightning damage and localised flooding.
