The 17-year-old won first place in the highly contested U18 whistle and flute category in Wexford. A member of the Irish music group Flúirse, Sorcha is the daughter of Philip Rodgers of Roddy's bar in Glenties and Helene Hennessy of Waterford.
Sorcha enjoys spending time in Donegal and has played with the Campbells of Glenties and says that musicians from across the county have been a great source of inspiration to her.
In 2023, Sorcha won first place in both flute competitions under 15 at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann and a wonderful homecoming was held for her in Glenties. The young musician can turn her hand to almost any musical instrument.
