Fire crews are attending the scene in Donegal Town
Donegal Fire Service is at the scene of a fire in the Castle Centre, Donegal Town.
The incident appears to be under control, though crews remain in the building.
A number of fire tenders are present, leading to traffic delays in the centre of Donegal Town.

The building was the scene of a major blaze in the 1980s, destroying the Bridge Street Arcade owned by the Timony family, and the residential unit which was a family home at the time. The frightening events of that evening are lodged in the memories of many people in Donegal Town.

Over time, a new multi-purpose building was constructed and named The Castle Centre, and it is in one of the units that today's fire broke out.

No further information on the cause of the fire is available at present.
